This craft activity not only helps children explore the world of sea creatures but also creates colorful wall hangings or balcony decorations.

    Materials Needed:

  • Disposable paper bowls.
  • Crepe paper, tissue paper, or silk paper.
  • Watercolors or Acrylic paint and paintbrushes.
  • Pencil, scissors, glue.
  • A piece of string or yarn (approx. 15-20 cm) and a paper clip (or a toothpick).
  • Plastic eyes (googly eyes).

Instructions:

Step 1: Create the Hanger

  • Use a pencil to poke a small hole in the center of the bottom of the paper bowl.
  • Cut a piece of string about 15–20 cm long.
  • Thread one end of the string through the hole (from the outside into the inside of the bowl). Tie the inner end of the string to a paper clip (or a small piece of a toothpick) to prevent the string from slipping out.

Step 2: Decorate the Jellyfish Body

  • Use a brush to paint the entire outside of the paper bowl. Colors like pink, blue, and purple will make the jellyfish look more lively.
  • You can add polka dots or any patterns you like.
  • Set the bowl aside and wait for the paint to dry completely.

Step 3: Make the Tentacles

  • Cut the crepe paper (or tissue paper) into at least 8 long strips to act as the tentacles.
  • Apply glue to the inside rim of the paper bowl, then attach the paper strips around the inside of the bowl, spacing them evenly.

Step 4: Finish the Face

  • Once the glue and paint are dry, turn the bowl upside down and lift the string so the tentacles hang down.
  • Glue on the googly eyes and use a marker to draw a big, happy smile for the jellyfish.

Step 5: Decorate and Play

  • You can tie the other end of the string to a stick so your child can easily hold it and wiggle it to make the jellyfish "swim."
  • The finished product can be hung from the ceiling or on a balcony. When the wind blows, the spinning jellyfish with their fluttering tentacles will bring the cool feeling of the ocean to your home.

Wishing you and your child a fun and creative time!
